What to build

Add a toggleable Sentinel-2 False Color Short-Wave Infrared (SWIR: B12, B8A, B4) raster layer to MapLibre. SWIR wavelengths pierce thick peatland haze and smoke, revealing active glowing thermal fire fronts and precise charred margins.

Technical specifications

  1. Target files:
    • src/components/map/layers/satellite-swir-layer.tsx: MapLibre raster tile layer component.
  2. Rendering tokens:
    • Active flaming front: Bright glowing neon orange / red.
    • Fresh burn scar: Deep dark brown / rust red.
    • Healthy vegetation: Bright vibrant green.

Acceptance criteria

  • SWIR imagery displays aligned with active hotspot clusters.
  • Active fire lines are visibly distinct from background vegetation.
